New Victoria Theatre will be welcoming Shrek The Musical
Woking it's time to head to the swamp! Shrek The Musical will be heading to New Victoria Theatre from Monday 30th October to Saturday 4th November. This exciting news invites you to enter the fairytale world, where Shrek and his noble steed Donkey are ready to bring their hilarious adventure to you and of course you can expect the film's catchy and classic soundtrack, including 'I'm A Believer', and all the jokes, joy and heart you loved. Antony Lawrence who will be playing Shrek says
"It's so cliched to say that it's a dream role but it really is. I'm a character actor. I love complex characters that go on a big journey and Shrek is very much like that."
What is the story of shrek?
Shrek, a large green ogre, lives alone in his swamp. When a whole host of fairytale creatures, evicted from the Kingdom of Duloc, begin squatting on his land, Shrek sets off to address the matter with Lord Farquaad. On his way, he rescues Donkey from a gang of Farquaad's ruffians. The grateful Donkey offers his friendship and guidance to the lost and grumpy ogre. At Castle Duloc, Farquaad demands that in exchange for getting his swamp back, Shrek must rescue Princess Fiona, whom he intends to marry. But Fiona is not your average damsel in distress, and holds her own alarming secret that changes everything!
